Ghualm Abbas, a 39 year old father of two sons and three daughters, lives with his wife and children in a small, owned house in Gujranwala, Pakistan. All of his children are of school-going age, and presently they all attend school. Ghulam is the owner of general store in his locality. Before starting his own business in retail, Ghulam was involved in carpentry for 3 years, the hotel industry for 2 years and worked as a shopkeeper for 10 years - suffice it to say, he has ample work experience to his name, and he has a keen understanding of the workings of a good retail store. He is the sole source of income for his family, with his monthly earnings from the store amounting to some $150. With business expenses in the range of $30-$50, as well as domestic expenses roughly $230, it is no surprise that Ghulam is looking for a way to expand his business and improve the volume of his sales. However, given his financially difficult position, Ghulam doesn't feel he can gather enough capital to initiate such an expansion. A generous loan of $210 from willing donors will give him the confidence he requires to oversee his business expansion, and a crowd fund could be the perfect way to connect him with such donors.
