Farida’s husband, a former factory worker, can’t work anymore due to Asthma and failed lungs. This has left Farida in charge of running her household entirely on her own. For the past 26 years, Farida has been running a small general store in the slums of Gujranwala. Combined with her husband’s income, the family was getting on fine previously but since the husband stopped working, it has become tough surviving on Farida’s inadequate earnings.
