Like many others, 24-year-old Safdar Ali lost his job due to COVID 19. He used to work as an office boy in a private company. His income of Rs. 12,000 per month, however, was too low. Just as the lockdown was imposed, Safdar's baby was born. This was a moment of joy but which was also marked with extreme tension as having just lost his job, Safdar did not know where to get money from. The only thing that mattered during this time was to earn enough to feed himself, his wife and his baby. In such desperate times, the only option Safdar had was to work as a laborer.
