Ahmad Ali's story

For Ahmad Ali, there is no stopping a disabled person from achieving success if he has the will and spirit to go for it. Ahmad, who has polio, has proven that handicapped people can be independent if they refuse to allow themselves to wallow in self-pity and despair. The 34-year-old has shown grit and determination for he is now a tailor in Lahore. His condition would have been much better if he had been educated. But he was sent to learn tailoring instead. Ahmad got married a few years ago and his wife also suffers from polio. The couple has three children, aged between three months and four years.  Despite using support to walk, he feels proud to be independent and be able to have my his house with money earned from his tailoring business.
