Farzana Kousar is a 37 year old married woman, living with her family in a slum of Gujranwala. She is a mother to 3 children, all of whom are school going. One of her daughter requires special needs since she lost her ability to hear or speak. Farzana wants to provide everything her daughter requires but her poor financial conditions don’t allow her take care of her daughter properly. Her husband works as a laborer and his wages are not enough for the family. Farzana is currently helping her husband out by running a small general store from her house. Farzana thinks if she is given the opportunity to expand her business, she will be able to generate a better income. With the money, she will be able to educate her children and fulfill their needs.
