Samina Begum is an ambitious woman from Gujranwala who wants to support her husband in managing the household finances. She is a mother of 5 girls and 1 boy. It is a wish of every mother that their children get the best. As she couldn’t see her children suffer, Samina decided to get a loan to start her business. They fell into the trap of requested loan from a commercial bank, and now they are stuck paying back the loan with high interest. Samina set up her beauty parlor business with her eldest daughter. They both managed the parlor right outside her home, but they couldn’t sustain it. The expenses of the parlor increased and were not able to afford new items for the parlor. Our social mobilizers enquired that although Samina’s parlor is good, it is empty with necessary parlor items missing. Samina told us that her business could do well because it is ladies’ need to visit the parlor. Samina has requested a loan of $175 to expand her beauty parlor. She wants to add the necessary items needed for a beauty parlor. She believes she can earn enough income and give her family the best of life.
