"Those who spend their wealth in Allah's way by night and by day, secretly and publicly — they will have their reward with their Lord." — Quran 2:274Waris Ali, a 40-year-old father of five, lives with his family in a semi urban locality of Gujranwala. Previously working for 26 years in a color factory, Waris could not escape his impoverished conditions. His expenses always surmounted his salary of only PKR 15,000. He struggled day in and day out to provide for his family and eventually he became a heart patient. He also gained experience of selling fruits but could not set up his own fruit cart due to insufficient funds. Amongst his 5 children, only 3 of them attend government run schools. He recently started driving a rickshaw to earn a living. His grievances persist as no matter how much he tries he does not earn enough money. Waris has requested a loan of PKR 50,000 to buy a food cart with a donkey to start his own business of selling fruits. He believes that he can flourish in the fruit selling business and his household financial problems would eventually go away. Waris’ dreams of giving the best education to all of his kids and save money for future expenses such as weddings of his two older daughters can become reality if we help him through this platform of crowdfunding.
