Sumaira Qamar ul Zaman Bhatti's story

The life story of Sumaira Qamar is very heart wrenching. A 56-year-old mother was left alone by her family during the hard times. Sumaira was recently widowed as her suffering husband lost his battle against kidney failure. A few years ago, when Sumaira’s husband, Qamar, was diagnosed with kidney failure, they could not imagine how life was going to unfold for them. Qamar was laid off from his job and all their savings were spent on his treatment. Eventually, they also had to sell their house so that their expenses could be met. Furthermore, Sumaira’s only son abandoned her and fled to Australia with his wife without providing any financial assistance. Fortunately, Sumaira’s daughter is the only one who provides her with some financial support from which she buys food and pays her bills. Sumaira is currently living in a rented portion in Lahore. After her husband’s death, Sumaira started a home-based food business with minimum investment where she takes orders online and delivers to her customers. Unfortunately, with no more money left to invest, her orders have significantly decreased. She has reached Seed Out to receive financial help. Through Seed Out’s online crowd funding platform, Sumaira wants a donation of $175 to expand her food inventory. With this micro-loan, Sumaira will expand her business and become a successful microentrepreneur. She will be able to pay her own bills and rent and will be able to fulfil her basic needs without borrowing from others.
