Shahnaz Bibi belongs to a poor family. When she was a young girl, she enjoyed her studies and took great interest in it. Her family's poor financial condition, however, was not conducive to her learning. Even as a young child, she had multiple responsibilities and when she was in middle school, she had to drop out and stay at home. Her mother had taught her stitching since a very young age and Shahnaz, once she was out of school, started sewing clothes and selling them to contribute towards the household income. Shahnaz Bibi then got married and had 4 children. It's her regret that she had to leave school, but Shahnaz feels better seeing al her children go to school. Getting them a good education gives an enormous sense of peace to Shahnza Bibi and motivates her to keep struggling so her children may attain heights in their education and career. The eldest daughter, Muqadas, has been able to study till college with her mother's support and plans to further enhance her education as well. She is currently enrolled in 12th grade in a government college. The two younger daughters are also doing well in school because they know it makes their mother happy. Shahnaz's son is a baby; he is only a year old. Shahnaz's husband is an auto-driver and as a supportive wife, she realizes how difficult it is for a poor man to be the sole bread earner for 6. Shahnaz had been stitching clothes to earn some income but recently, she has developed an eye problem which has affected her eyesight as well. This makes it very difficult for Shahnaz to do the intricate work of stitching and she wants to make a career switch. Shahnaz has worked out her business plan before approaching Seed Out and has told us that she now wants to swtich over to a grocery store as her means of income. For this, she needs a loan of $175 to set up the store and purchase inventory. It is with your help that Shahnaz will be able to materialise what she has in mind. The only motive for Shahnaz to earn more is to educate her children and help out her husband.
